Describing prostitution as ”sex work” is concealing the real suffering and the violation to which most people involved are exposed. In what other kind of work would it be acceptable for 60-80% of the workers to be exposed to physical, verbal and sexual abuse, and to have mortality figures some 10-40 times higher than the average?
